Culture, rather the lack of it

The Chief Minister of TamilNadu , questions the
existence of Lord Ram.Calls Valmiki's Ram a drunkard and
asks for his engineering diploma.
Devotees of Ram decide to give a fitting response and set a bus on fire.
Two people are killed. The CM criticizes the culture of those "Ram devotees".

After this ,a VHP activist , wants the CM dead.DMK party men ransack the BJP party office. The same CM refrains from talking about the culture of the DMK party cadres.
The BJP is terrified to fight back. They don't want to protest a "0-death" violent act probably because they fear if these "harmless"acts are condemned , they will be dead.

The entire chain of events exposes the rotten under belly of tamilnadu politics.

When you are working in Bangalore and a TamilNadu SETC bus is attacked a km away from where you stay , you can't help but remember those stories of violence n attacks on tamilians (these stories typically involve anecdotes about the neighbor being attacked, a two-wheeler that was burnt in a nearby back alley or how 48-72 hours were spent in the office with no food/water)that little-known relatives talked about. When you actually heard those stories ,you must have have thought they belonged to a different era.when you realize that two people are dead from the violence, you can't help but wonder
"When will the old man step aside".
