Winning, like excellence is one habit that Gangulys boys (dravids
boys for a short span of time as well) lack.A loss in the final
of a tournament for something like 99999999th time .OKay am exaggerating
a bit ,but the truth is no better.I dont think the problem
is with our players failing in the big games.

The problem any tri nation tournament includes a team that is very
week, has numerous internal troubles and lacks spine..So the Indian
team manages to go through to the finals ,where they meet the
other able team in the tournament and inevitably loose. Its been a while
since we both batted and bowled well.

Hopefully Greg Chappell will do something.We should learn a lesson or
two from England.ASHES will be the first of the many victories for ENGLAND.
It will be a while before Australia regains supremacy.All old war horses.
No new heroes knocking at the doors.

Indian cricket teams abysmal showing coupled with increasingly better performances
from Indians in other sports has turned all the media attention from the cricketers.
Its actually the best time ,if you are a sania mirza or a narain karthikeyan.
Dravid and Ganguly not playing all that well.Sachin sitting out of most matches.
Advertisers will have to look else where.

Harsh realities

Venkat talks about the harsh realities of LIFE AT L
in his post "reality check"..It just brings to light the utter
truthlessness in certain myths we have been fed over the
years..

You join a school and you heare your teacher say
slog when you are here ,so that later you get into a good
engineering/medical college and life after that will be full of
roses..Enter a professional college and the realities blow you
apart.Survival becomes a big issue in a medical college.
Survival in an engineering colllege requires a different set of skills
none of which require you to be hard working,intelligent or smart.
Here people worry about maintaining a good percentage ,so that
some software company suffer the ignominy of recruiting us.

Once inside a software company, you have exit tests to worry about.
Performance improvement programs cause little more than a headache.

Not long ago ,I heard "When we are talking of MBA ,we are looking at
the next 50-60 years of our career.No retirements..so a good b-school
and you have taken care of the next 50 years.."

Once inside a b-school, its again a question of survival..
I wonder where this will end ?I would like to imagine
life without these necessary evils..While these balances are necessary
in life ,what is painful is that more often than not, people
incharge of these checks are not qualified enough...

Venkat says cracking CAT is a childsplay
in comparison to Life after that...
My immediate worry is to excel in that childsplay..
As the countdown in PG says only 78 days to go..............................

UPDATES

I have been through a roller coaster ride insofar
as my blog is concerned.So many experiences thanks to
this blog and its previous avatar.Still I feel
very happy when a new person comments here.
I guess an IIM grad blogrolling a blog helps
a lot..

I have been irregular in updating these last
couple of weeks for a variety of reasons..Occasionally
i suffer from a (un)writers block..I dont know what to
write about at times..should get over that problem
somehow..Every week i keep finding new blogs which
make great reading.

The surprise these last few days has been the rains in Madurai.
Its been nearly a decade since it rained heavily in this region..
I guess all records for uneven distribution of rain
will go down like nine pins ..It rains in Thiruparangkundram
but not a drop in Palanganatham ,which is only a few kilometres
down the road.

This unevenness is matched by my perforamnces in the mocks
..My performannce has ranged from good to average to bad to
worse...Hoping it will stabilise at a decent level..
I will stop here..Got a mock in ten hours time..
